Wat causes the black ‘holes’ after waxing/hair removal?

I don’t get those after waxing but my friend does.
Is it because her hair is thicker than mine? (Her hair is quite thick!)
Or is it because she waxed for longer than me?
P.S. I’m 13 so don’t suggest laser. Can’t afford it and my parents are not going to listen.
