A figurine from the wax machine at the Milwaukee Public Zoo – when I was younger, I think these machines made a bigger impression on me than the animals! After you put your money in, two molds came together, and hot wax was pumped in. After the wax had cooled, the molds came apart and the figurine falls into a slot. This window shows the finished product so you can see what you get before you plug your money in – I love the fact that the window looks like a TV set! So cool. Best of all, the machines are still at the zoo – or were, as of 2006.
